In response to concerns about the repetitious nature of program and departmental reporting, the Streamlining Academic Reporting Processes (SARP) Committee was convened in June 2017. This committee was charged with considering how best to move forward with Academic Program Review and how to align that process with other reporting activities. The SARP Committee members include a dean, chairs, faculty, Senate Executive Committee members, a Provost’s Office representative, and an Assessment representative.
The SARP Committee has considered how to best align the various reporting requirements while enabling and encouraging meaningful relationships between programs, departments, and colleges in terms of strategic planning and goal setting. Work over the last five months has centered both on creating a continuous improvement process, as well as eliminating duplicative reporting processes on campus, which historically has included undergraduate and graduate program review, annual reporting, assessment, and faculty scholarship reporting.
